AO3 MEMBERSHIP AND THE AFFILIATED BODIES
There shall be three classes of membership for corporate bodies: (1) Club (2) Affiliate (3) Associate
Any group with four (4) or more Ordinary members of the JCF may apply to be an associated club of the JCF by submitting the following to a designated member of the JCF Executive Council:
(a) A membership application form (Form D02.4) duly completed and signed by the President of the Club, together with the names of the members of the group applying (b) The prescribed membership fee as set out in D03.
(b)A Club can be classified as a Student, or Non-student Club for the purpose of determining fees. A Student Club is defined as a club whose members are under 25 years of age and pursuing a full-time course of studies at an educational institution. Student Clubs are allowed a 50% discount on all prescribed fees.
c) Within 1 month of the date of receipt of the application for Associate Club membership or of fee for renewal of membership, the JCF must EITHER issue to the applicant a Certificate of Membership (Form D02.5), OR return the amount received as membership fee together with a notification of its non approval of membership.
d) The President of the Associated Club must ensure that the names of all members of his club are registered with the JCF. Each registered member of an Associated Club will receive all the benefits of an individual Ordinary Member of the JCF.
e) An Associated Club shall have the right to participate in Club / Team events of the JCF, subject to the specific ruling of the JCF Executive Council and the rules of the JCF as to membership, entry fees or otherwise.
f) After Associated Club membership has lapsed for non payment of membership fee, it may be renewed by payment of the membership fee at any time. The period of membership will begin as of the date of payment.
g) An Associated Club shall cease to be a member of the JCF if (1) its membership fee being due is not paid (2) the number of Ordinary members in the club falls below four (3) it notifies the JCF in writing that it is surrendering its membership, or (4) the JCF Executive Council, for good cause, so determines. .
A03.4.2 AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
a) Any organization with a membership of fifty (50) or more individuals may apply for affiliation to the JCF by submitting an application in writing to the JCF Executive Council, together with (a) a copy of their Constitution, and (b) the prescribed fee as set out in D03.
b) Within 1 month of the date of receipt of the application for Affiliation or of fee for renewal of Affiliation, the JCF must EITHER issue to the applicant a Certificate of Membership (Form D02.5), OR return the amount received as membership fee together with a notification of its non approval of membership.
c) After Affiliation has lapsed for non payment of affiliation fee, it may be renewed by payment of the affiliation fee at any time. The period of affiliation will begin as of the date of payment.
d) The President of the Affiliate must ensure that the names of all members of his affiliate are registered with the JCF. Each registered member of an Affiliate will receive all the benefits of an individual Ordinary Member of the JCF.
e) An organization shall cease to be affiliated to the JCF if (1) its affiliation fee being due is not paid (2) its membership falls below fifty (50) (3) it notifies the JCF in writing that it is surrendering its affiliation, or (4) the JCF Executive Council, for good cause, so determines.
A03.4.3 ASSOCIATE STATUS
a) Any bona-fide chess-related organization may apply for Associate Status with the JCF by submitting an application in writing to the JCF Executive Council, together with (1) a copy of their Constitution and (2) the prescribed fee as set out in D03.
b) Within 30 days of the date of receipt of the application for Associate Status or of fee for renewal of Associate Status, the JCF must EITHER issue to the applicant a Certificate of Association (Form D02.6), OR return the amount received as Associate Status fee together with a notification of its non approval of Associate Status.
c) An organization shall cease to be associated to the JCF if (1) its associate fee being due is not paid within 14 days (2) it notifies the JCF in writing that it is surrendering its associate affiliation status, or (3) the JCF Executive Council, for good cause, so determines.
d) After Associate Status has lapsed for non payment of fee, it may be renewed by payment of the fee at any time. The period of Associate Status will begin as of the date of payment.
e) The benefits of Associate Status to the Associate will include (1) receipt of JCF announcements and promotional materials (2) promotion by the JCF of the Associates events (3) the right to show Associate Status with the JCF on announcements and promotional materials (4) liaison with FIDE via the JCF.
f) To receive the full benefits of JCF membership, each member of an Associate must become an individual Ordinary Member of the JCF. .
